Dr. Avery Zaffos

Originally from South Florida, Dr. Zaffos began her professional journey in corporate accounting, earning both her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Florida before making a bold career change to veterinary medicine. She completed her post-baccalaureate studies at the University of Southern California and went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Sydney.

Driven by a lifelong desire to protect and advocate for animals of all shapes and sizes, Dr. Zaffos has special interests in exotic medicine, emergency care, and internal medicine. Outside of traditional clinical settings, she has spent—and plans to continue spending—her time working with wildlife around the world, with hands-on experience spanning Australia, Africa, and Asia.

Now embarking on her next adventure in Colorado, Dr. Zaffos is excited to serve the Denver community while embracing the mountain lifestyle. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, and exploring local cafés.
